Welcome to the Advanced Appearance blog. We’ll be using this site to provide you with
information and advice on hair loss and how to disguise thinning hair. We specialise in creating very natural
looking hair replacement systems to help clients to restore their self-esteem
following hair loss.
Hair loss can occur for a number of reasons. It can be caused by a side effect from medication
such as chemotherapy, stress, a hormone imbalance, alopecia, trichotillomania
and most commonly, male pattern baldness.
A larger number of men start to lose their hair each year. Some men start to lose it in their twenties,
whilst others will lose it much later in life.
The hair line often starts to recede from the temples and the front of
the hair line, whilst other men will also find that the hair begins to thin at
the crown of the head.
There are some fantastic hair replacement systems which do
not involve surgery. Some systems
involve applying a very thin mesh to the head, in which natural looking hair
is weaved in to cover the problem areas.
Alternatively, full head wigs can also be used, though be aware that
these are far more natural looking and comfortable to wear than the wigs from in
the past were!
Other methods include using a powder based spray which covers
the areas of thinning hair. The powder
clings to the existing hair and gives the appearance of a full head of
hair. The treatment is temporary as the spray
can simply be washed out with shampoo, but gives a very realistic and finish. The sprays can be available in a range of
colours in order to match the natural hair, and many clients choose to use one
or two colours which is especially useful if their existing hair contains
natural highlights.
Our expert team are able to give practical advice on hair
loss and how to deal with it. Many
clients find that their self-confidence can be affected by hair loss, and are
